A Simple Way to Find Leads on LinkedIn
it's my preferred method
It’s summer and I’ll be honest with you…

I haven’t been very consistent on LinkedIn…are you struggling this summer also?
Once my kids started summer it was swimming, pickleball, birthday parties, arranging get togethers and planning our road trip.
I also had client work so that + everything else ate up my time.
And that left me no time for LinkedIn marketing…until recently.
I hopped on LinkedIn over the weekend to schedule a post and was pleasantly surprised by all the amazing posts I was seeing from other freelancers.
Many were talking about:
Raising their rates
Landing their first client
The lessons they learned from freelancing
and more
But I found a few posts that were gems.
These were from writers who shared their success with a client.
One of these posts shared that their client was Amazon.
At first, I was like, “huh? Amazon has a blog? How come I never knew that?”
So that sent me down a rabbit hole of about 20 minutes investigating that.
Once I found the blog and saw their social profiles, I clicked on their LinkedIn one and it brought me to their blog’s LinkedIn page.
From there, I searched the list of employees to find the most relevant person to network with.
Now I wait.
If I don’t hear back from them, then I’ll connect with another similar person that might help me out.
If still nothing, I will connect with “any” other person and ask who to contact about a blog writing position.
This is actually my preferred method to finding and sourcing leads.
It’s laid back and vetted since other freelancers I’m connected with have them as clients.
So, if you’re struggling to find more leads, read other success stories from freelancers and check out who they write for.
One thing I learned early on as a freelancer, is to always look up to those who have done it before. If I never cold pitched, I would find someone who is successful in that, and learn from them.
It’s the best way to get the info quickly. If you find yourself struggling maintaining an consistent freelance business, my Freelance Creator Files newsletter gives you a BTS of my seven-figure business.
I share my creator business and freelancer business and how I manage it all. I’m also toying with giving my subscribers even MORE goodies like video training classes and templates! I have to give it more thought and plan it but now is a good time to subscribe!
