Should we take advantage of this popular LinkedIn writing service?
PR firms are....
One minute I had no idea about this hot writing service and then a minute later, that’s all I’ve been researching!

What I’m talking about is LinkedIn ghostwriting!
But the thing is, PR firms are taking advantage of this new hot writing service.
I don’t have a subscription to Business Insider so don’t know the slant of this article but what I know is this:
Get in front of the PR firms and go out there and pitch your little heart out to thought leaders for LinkedIn ghostwriting.
As a LinkedIn ghostwriter you are hired to create LinkedIn content.
This is typically posts in the voice of an industry leader.
VPs in marketing and other professionals may want to get onto the LinkedIn marketing ship but they don’t have a presence.
I don’t know about you but when I start researching businesses I want to write for and then click on a content manager’s LinkedIn profile, it’s dead.
They haven’t posted in 6 or more months and aren’t active on the platform.

As a ghostwriter (or even freelance writer) you can contact these professionals and pitch your LinkedIn ghostwriting services.
Other times, VPs or specialists might see YOUR content and how your content get’s dozens of comments and hundreds or thousands of shares.
If they see “ghostwriter” or “LinkedIn thought leader writer” in your title they will contact you to help them with their LinkedIn content. Kim, VP of Marketing for a SaaS tool (will keep her privacy), initially had a small presence online.
She used LinkedIn sparingly, engaging primarily by liking posts from others. "I rarely posted myself, only sharing occasional updates about my company every few months," she admitted.
In 2022, Kim's approach changed dramatically after encountering a LinkedIn content creator whose posts consistently got hundreds of comments and shares.
"His updates would quickly amass likes, shares, and comments by the hundreds. Despite not being connected, his presence was constant on my feed," she noted.
This discovery led her to learn that the creator was also a ghostwriter, helping executives like her enhance their online visibility.
And guess what she did – she hired him to write content for her. Colleagues and peers from the industry began sending me messages, praising my posts,” Kim remembers.
“They were taken aback by the consistent insightfulness of the content I was sharing. A few even wondering if I had brought on a PR agency to handle it!”
And that leads to another perspective on hiring a ghostwriter to write LinkedIn content.

If you want to offer this lucrative service (and it can be since you would be ghostwriting for CEOs and big thought leaders) you have to match your client’s voice.
Posts generally have to look and feel like it came from your client and for that reason, this LinkedIn job may not be your thing.
I know for me, I’m not interested in social media ghostwriting.
But for you, aside from the money you would be connecting with and possibly networking with big important people. They could open the doors to helping you find more clients.
Understand though, you would also be competing with PR firms who are managing all aspects of an exec's LinkedIn presence, from writing to analytics.
So, to stand out do what Sarah’s ghostwriter did: build your audience with amazing content that gets comments and shares.
And make sure you have ghostwriter in your title. Connect with CEO’s, VPs, and CCOs and market your service.
I hope you enjoyed this one!
Freelancing can seem lonely. It can also feel like we are competing.
Well, I’m not letting that happen and want to share what I’m doing as a freelancer.
In my Freelance Creator Files Newsletter, I will share my inner thoughts, my business income, and my strategies for freelancing and for creators.
My first case study/challenge is already underway: cold pitching.
Oh man! It’s NOT like how I expected this to go!
